JMU General Education

Client: JMU GenEd Program  |   2024   |   Interactive Ad, Print, Out of Home  |  Photoshop

Objective:

Design a campaign to help clarify the program, make it easier for prospective students, and inform people in way they understand the why in the General Education program.

Audience:

The primary audience is prospective students and secondary is their families.

Key Insights:

The program wants to move away from the word “clusters” so we decided to use the word “areas”. We want to provide an interactive and very informational interface that allows users to learn the ins and outs of the classes. We designed a flyer to post around campus that grabs attention and informs but is not information overload. Lastly, we created a social media strategy to get followers involved and provide insight for target audience.

Creative Approach:

Use a platform such as Netflix that is recognizable to this demographic to make a fun interface that teaches viewers about the different areas of the General Education program. This will generate interactivity, engagement, and excitement. Make all designs memorable, informational, concise, and aesthetically pleasing.

Big Idea:

The big idea is getting across the “why.” We believe the one thing that will persuade prospective students more than anything will be hearing from older students/alumni that the classes they are about to take genuinely enhance their learning here. Our motivating message is that the learning objectives will benefit students in all their endeavors.
